TURN, a Book by State for OFFF

We proudly (and vulnerably) present TURN, a book by State for OFFF 2023.

The book is intended to be a tactile meditation, just one shelf away from its owner’s fingertips.

The book recognizes the universality of fears and insecurities, especially among creatives. Inspired by thoughts, emotions and struggles, the book gives a mix of advice and state of being, hopefully acting as a reminder that we’re never alone in our fluctuations.

As creatives, we are constantly in production mode, driven by an insatiable need to create and express ourselves. But let's face it: this relentless pressure can feel like Atlas carrying the weight of the world on our shoulders. It's exhausting, there's no denying that.

But what if we could flip the script? What if we could harness that pressure and transform it into something extraordinary? What if our struggles became the very fuel that ignites our creative fire? These are the questions at the heart of State's TURN, unveiled at OFFF 2023—a fearless and unapologetic exploration of embracing the chaos.

Within the pages you'll find an honest reflection of the creative journey. It acknowledges the weight we carry, both in our pursuit of artistic excellence and in the battle to safeguard our mental health. TURN invites us to discover the transformative power of channeling that pressure into something extraordinary.

This remarkable collection presents a tapestry of stories, where the writing voices—artists, dreamers, and audacious souls—have stared into the abyss, defiantly turning its darkness into magnificent masterpieces. They have traversed the fires of self-doubt, fear, and uncertainty, emerging stronger than ever before.

TURN is an ode to resilience, reminding us that our struggles need not break us. Rather, they can become the catalysts that ignite our creative spirit and propel us toward extraordinary achievements. It is a testament to letting chaos flap its wings and embracing the tornados that follow.
